JaxLayerLumos is a JAX-based computa琀椀onal
framework that implements the
Transfer-Matrix Method (TMM) to efficiently
model electromagne琀椀c wave propaga琀椀on
through layered materials. TMM is a
founda琀椀onal tool used in op琀椀cs and photonics,
allowing researchers to analyze the reflec琀椀on,
transmission, and absorp琀椀on characteris琀椀cs of
mul琀椀-layer stacks. JaxLayerLumos excels in its
flexibility, suppor琀椀ng simula琀椀ons involving
magne琀椀c materials, gradient-based
op琀椀miza琀椀on, and conversion between spectral
data and color spaces (XYZ, sRGB, Lab).
JaxLayerLumos can be used for a range of
photonic and optoelectronic designs, including
solar cells, an琀椀-reflec琀椀ve coa琀椀ngs, structural
color genera琀椀on, electromagne琀椀c interference
(EMI) shielding, and radar-absorbing materials
(RAM). It enables rapid prototyping and
op琀椀miza琀椀on—matching or surpassing
commercial so昀琀ware—while suppor琀椀ng
valida琀椀on workflows with experimental data.
